Forest How nestles peacefully at the foot of Muncaster Fell, amidst
one and a half acres of natural fellside and gardens, and enjoys spectacular
views across the Eskdale valley.
The house itself dates back to the 1870's and has been tastefully modernised
in recent years to provide guests with comfortable accommodation, all within
a friendly family atmosphere.
We have seven bedrooms at Forest How, three of which have their own bathrooms. All rooms have a wash basin, colour television and tea and coffee making facilities. A ground floor annexe, next to the main building, provides a self-contained unit with a small double and a single bedroom with a shared bathroom, this is all on one level.
The house has full central heating, a separate dining room
and a guest lounge with a selection of books, maps and games. There is a
stone flagged conservatory, which leads to a patio area, where sun loungers
are provided for those sunnier days.
From the garden, with its lawns and flower borders, Forest How looks across
to the village of Eskdale and the fells beyond. In the field below the house
it is possible to see roe deer in the early morning, and at dusk a barn
owl frequently circles the field for food. The house itself is beautifully
situated at the end of a quiet country lane that crosses the Ravenglass
and Eskdale Railway.
