Facilities at Forest How

We have seven bedrooms at Forest How, four of which have en-suite bath or shower rooms. All bedrooms are centrally heated, have a wash basin, colour television, tea/coffee making facilities and fantastic views.

First floor

  • Room 1
    • Double room with en-suite shower room, enjoying views across the fields to the village of Eskdale Green and the fells beyond.
  • Room 2
    • Double room with en-suite bathroom with power shower over bath. Double aspect room with fantastic views over the fields to the village in one direction, and over the gardens to the fells in the other.
  • Room 3
    • Twin room with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. Views over the gardens.

Second floor

  • Room 4
    • Twin room with en-suite shower room. Far reaching views towards Eskdale Green and the Wasdale fells beyond.
  • Room 5
    • Spacious double room with small sofa bed if required. Panoramic views towards Eskdale Green.
  • Room 6
    • Pretty twin room with views over the gardens.
  • Room 7
    • Twin room with views over the field towards Irton Pike.
    Rooms 5, 6 and 7 share the second floor bathroom with wc, wash basin and shower

Breakfast

Breakfast at Forest How can be as light or as large as you wish! Choose from a selection of fruit and cereals, followed by a hearty full English, using locally sourced produce, or choose something lighter such as eggs, cooked to your liking, or baked beans on toast. We also offer omelettes, kippers and smoked haddock. Breakfast is served either in the stone-flagged conservatory overlooking the garden or in the cosy dining room.

Guest lounge

We want guests to relax and feel at home in the lounge and we have a good selection of maps, books, magazines and games for you to enjoy. If the evenings are a little chilly, the roaring fire will soon warm you up and glasses are provided if you would like to enjoy a quiet drink. Unfortunately we cannot provide the tipple of your choice!

Drying room

If you have come back from your walk with wet coats and boots, we have a spacious drying room so that your gear will be dry for the following day.

Ample car parking and secure cycle storage

We have plenty of room for car parking and can provide secure storage for your cycles.

Dogs

Well behaved dogs are welcome but please bring their own beds, toys and bowls as Bodie and Baxter, our own black Labradors, get upset if they have to share!
